As we head into Week Three of the new MLS campaign, we take a look at the key numbers from the season so far.

Dom Dwyer scored two goals every three games last season

0: Dom Dwyer scored 22 times for Sporting Kansas City last season but is yet to open his account this time round, and even missed a penalty in their 3-1 loss to Dallas.

1: Expansion teams New York City FC and Orlando City SC recorded their first MLS wins last weekend and top the Eastern Conference on four points each.

2: FC Dallas are the only side, so far, to have recorded victories in their opening two games of the season and sit top of the Western Conference.

3: Only three teams, Chicago Fire, Montreal Impact and last year’s MLS Cup runners-up New England Revolution, are yet to get off the mark this year.

5: Seattle’s deadly duo, Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins, have combined to score all five of the Sounders’ goals so far this season.

6: Six players have scored two goals in a game so far this season but no-one has been able to notch a hat-trick – will we see the first this weekend?

16: San Jose Earthquakes ended their 16-match winless run as a Chris Wondolowski brace and Innocent Emeghara’s cool finish saw them overcome Seattle 3-2.

18: Dempsey scored the fastest goal in Seattle’s history after just 18 seconds of their game with the Earthquakes.

The US international’s effort was still ten seconds slower than the MLS record set by Tim Cahill for New York Red Bulls in 2013; he scored after eight seconds in a 3-0 win at Houston.

21: Columbus Crew had 21 shots on goal in their 2-0 victory over Toronto – the most of any side in game Week Two.

29: 29 players have scored once or more in the opening two weeks of the MLS campaign.

Alan Gordon is becoming a late goal specialist

41: There have been 41 goals scored in 18 games so far this season.

92: Substitute Alan Gordon’s 92^nd-minute header earned MLS Cup holders LA Galaxy a point to take home from Portland.

100: Houston’s Tyler Deric and Colorado’s Clint Irwin both have 100% save success rates so far this season.
