There are new leaders in the Western Conference after FC Dallas demolished Houston Dynamo 4-1 in the first Texan Derby of the season.

as Dallas hammered Houston

Ryan Hollingshead’s left-footed drive started the rout before Fabian Castillo’s perfect cutback allowed David Texeira to double the lead from close range.

Giles Barnes’ curling free kick made it 2-1 at half time but Mauro Diaz’s venomous strike put the game beyond Houston on 53 minutes, 

and Castillo poked home two minutes later.

New England Revolution lead the Supporters’ Shield race after beating New York Red Bulls 2-1 to end MLS’ last unbeaten start.

Charlie Davies’ diving header flew past Luis Robles before Teale Bunbury slotted the second – Sacha Kljestan rounded the keeper to pull one back for New York but Revolution held on.

Supporters’ Shield holders Seattle Sounders continued their fine form as Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey scored the goals in a 3-1 victory at New York City.

Martins beat the offside trap to open the scoring but Mehdi Ballouchy equalised, bending into the top corner with his last touch before being substituted.

Dempsey swept Seattle back into the lead before Martins finished an 18-pass move to make it 3-1 and Kwame Watson-Siriboe was sent off late on for New York.

DC United are one of four teams on 17 points after beating Columbus Crew 2-0 to extend their unbeaten home run to 16 games.

Fabian Espindola dinked home his first goal since returning from a six-game ban and Sean Franklin volleyed home the Argentine’s corner to seal the game.

Darlington Nagbe’s penalty struck the post as Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps drew 0-0.
