3 Good, 3 Bad: Week Six

LA Galaxy triumphed in their battle with Seattle Sounders and Colorado Rapids finally picked up their first win of 2015, but who made it into our 3 Good, 3 Bad this week?

Flying high...

1) Jaime “Brick Wall” Penedo

MLS Cup holders LA Galaxy have Penedo to thank for picking up their second win of the season against Seattle Sounders.
The Panamanian keeper made a league high 10 saves in the match including six from Lamar Neagle, who could have had a hat-trick by half-time.
Penedo had already denied Neagle twice before Alan Gordon gave Galaxy the lead and must be a shoe in for MLS Player of the Week.


2) Jermaine Jones is back in business

The US international finally made his comeback from injury for New England Revolution against Columbus Crew and played 45 minutes before being replaced by Andy Dorman.
In his first appearance since last season’s MLS Cup defeat, Jones put in a lively performance and would have broken the stalemate but for a last-gasp block.
Revolution are fourth in an extremely tight Eastern Conference and Jones, who has played Premier League football for Blackburn, could make the difference for Jay Heaps' team.

3) After the drought, comes the flood...

Colorado Rapids fans had waited since October 12, when John Neeskens opened the scoring in a 2-1 defeat to Chivas USA, to see their side score.
Pablo Mastroeni’s side were on a 602 minute goal drought, the fourth longest in MLS history, when Dominique Badji finally scored their first goal of 2015.
The breakthrough came two days before Rapids fans could celebrate six months without a goal, but once one came three more followed - Dillon Serna's thunderbolt was the pick as Colorado tasted victory again.

In the pits...

1) Montreal’s MLS woe

Impact made history last week by becoming the first Canadian side to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League final but they are the only team without a MLS win.
On Saturday they collapsed to a 3-0 defeat to Houston Dynamo who had only scored twice in five games before this weekend’s fixture.
They have scored the fewest league goals and already look likely to repeat their finish last season and end up bottom of the MLS pile.

2) Eric Ayuk's assist celebration

Despite making our MLS All-Star XI we have to give a nod to Erik Ayuk who thought he had scored his first MLS goal against New York City this weekend.
The ball fell to him and he prodded towards goal – he thought he had scored,  the commentators thought he had scored, even we thought he had scored.
However, by the time he had finished a celebration which might force Obafemi Martins a step closer to retirement, it was clear the goal belonged to teammate Zach Pfeffer – bad luck Eric.


3) David Villa’s FIFA flop...

At the other end of the scale, @NYCFC win the award for most bizarre tweet of the weekend.
Shortly after Villa had poked home his second goal of the season to equalise against Philadelphia Union, they produced this...

Perhaps the worst FIFA celebration ever; they could have at least made virtual Villa do a salmon dive!
