MLS Stat Attack: Week Seven

MLS's 20th season is quickly developing a reputation for upsets and late goals and last weekend didn't disappoint.

Colorado Rapids picked up their first victory with a 4-0 win over FC Dallas as did Philadelphia Union thanks to Vincent Nogueira's added-time winner.

With ten games coming up in Week Seven, we break down MLS to all the key stats...

Nogueira scored Union's winner against NYCFC

-1: FC Dallas sit second in the Western Conference with ten points despite having a negative goal difference.

0: Nine games have ended goalless this season including Real Salt Lake v Sporting Kansas City and New England Revolution v Columbus Crew last weekend.

1: Montreal Impact are the only MLS franchise still waiting for their first victory of the season after Philadelphia Union beat New York City 2-1 in Week Six.

2: After playing DC United for a second time last weekend, New York Red Bulls have played as many games against DC this season as they have against the other 18 MLS sides combined.

3: Nine players are joint second in the MLS Golden Boot charts with three goals so far this season.

4: Nine sides from FC Dallas in second to Portland Timbers in tenth are separated by four points in the Western Conference.

Penedo denied Lamar Neagle six times on Sunday

5: Columbus Crew have played five, scored five, conceded five and have five points so far- they are sixth in the Eastern Conference.

9: Vancouver Whitecaps are MLS’ highest scorers with nine goals in seven matches.

10: Jaime Penedo made ten saves to keep a cleansheet in LA Galaxy's 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders.

19: LA Galaxy’s 19 match unbeaten run at the StubHub Center is the fourth longest home unbeaten streak in MLS history.

31.5: There have been 17 draws this season; that amounts to 31.5% of matches, up from 27.5% in 2014.

Gordon scored the winner in his 200th MLS appearance

43: MLS sides have kept 43 cleansheets in 54 games so far this campaign.

200: Alan Gordon scored winner for LA Galaxy against Seattle Sounders on his 200^th MLS appearance; he also scored one minute into his professional debut against the Sounders.

602: Colorado ended a 602-minute goal drought, the fourth longest in MLS history, in emphatic style putting four past high-flying FC Dallas.
